McLaren Automotive expands in Latin America with McLaren São Paulo

5 Mar 2018

McLaren Automotive, the British creator of luxury sportscars and supercars, has announced the expansion of its retail network in Latin America with a new retailer in São Paulo, Brazil.

The opening of the new facility, that includes both a dedicated, state-of-the art showroom and service centre, is planned for the second quarter of 2018. McLaren is already successfully represented in two other Latin American locations - in Santiago de Chile and Mexico City.

Brazil is the next logical step given the marque’s ambitious growth plans and also its long association with three times World Champion Ayrton Senna who won all his titles at the wheel of a McLaren.  The brand recently named its latest Ultimate Series car in his honour and the McLaren Senna was developed by his nephew and McLaren Automotive test driver, Bruno Senna.

McLaren appointed Eurobike, the official Brazilian retailer of several prominent premium and luxury automotive brands, as its official partner. Located in the prestigious Vila Olimpia, the new McLaren São Paulo showroom will span over 400sqm and showcase up to four display cars, with further space for McLaren Qualified pre-owned cars on the mezzanine level. The service facility with three work bays will be located within the same premises.

Mike Flewitt, McLaren Automotive Chief Executive Officer, commented: “Brazil is an important market for McLaren both in terms of its market potential and its history with Ayrton Senna and our relationship with Bruno Senna and the whole Senna family. The legendary Brazilian Formula 1 driver won all three of his World Championships at the wheel of a McLaren. McLaren’s latest model, the McLaren Senna, carries his name honouring its status as the ultimate McLaren track car.”

“Eurobike is committed to surpass client expectations and adding value to their partners by offering personalised service in keeping with the McLaren brand. We are confident that with their experience and strong track record, Eurobike is sure to take McLaren to the next level in Latin America”, said Andreas Bareis, Managing Director of Middle East, Africa and Latin America for McLaren Automotive.

Announced in 2016, the company’s Track22 business plan will see the company invest £1billion in research and development to deliver 15 new cars or derivatives by the end of 2022, of which at least half will be hybrids.

2017 saw the company launch further models in line with Track22 including the second-generation Super Series, the 570S Spider and the McLaren Senna.

To support the development, engineering and manufacture of its range of innovative sportscars and supercars, McLaren Automotive partners with world leading companies to provide specialist expertise and technology. These include AkzoNobel, Kenwood, Pirelli and Richard Mille.
